“you are not enough”
whispers the void
voice a chuckling helix
that spirals down
thudding in the chest
with the pitch
of an explosion
breathless, feeling impelled
to express, to conjure
pleading to talent
knees on the dirt,
give me your voice
make me your vessel,
play a song with this hollow
reed pipe
notes dance in air
like snakes slithering
a song to cover
the nakedness of Adam
draping decoration
the censer passes
to make lack luscious
with dynamism of smoke
song and self blur
each note I am
giving pieces of me
away a living canvas
my bleeding form
clutched, staggering
adopting a
defensive posture
