Carousel

from within carousel seeking
perspective, strain
squint and grasp saddle
fixed to the floor
around and around we go
orbiting our fixations
spur a wooden pony
with intent
and lean into imagined wind
let’s make a resolution
for each lap
to go a different way
trusting in the power of
posture or perspective
to unchain us
from our thoughts
and limitations
