I am Complex

I am rising
breathlike sublimation
I am sinking
granular sedimentation

I am complex
like interleaved shadows
with which I grapple
for singular focus

I am a mesh of contexts
trying to squeeze myself
into a narrative
for validation

I am dizzied
following the shifting light
the “right answer” as it appears
a narrow window in complexity

I smudge clarity
like ink with ruminations
I climb mountains of thought
to see the obvious

heaving with quixotic triumph
I extoll the knowledge and toil
of miles trekked on
the scenic route to heart

I am at odds to find a winner
pitting my needs against each other
then I blink and realize
all these things are true

I am complex
