Ides of Attachment

picking scabs with words
emotions and desires unwanted
grating duhkha
delirious we believe
logos a better doctor
than time and tide
digging in to fix it explanations
mutilating memory
cover all the varied times
with taint patina of the bitter end
we paint a world in gray and black
a tragedy we’ve lived through
and then protecting
we are not generous
looking for smile or encouragement
while carrying tight and timid aspect
we deprive ourselves
by not giving light
to nurture a better world
that we might like to live in
