Easy Going

she waits like clay
to be shaped
afraid of taking up too much flair
fluted and fine a vessel
she waits for the day
to be taken
by strong skilled hands
and given form
she awaits appraisal
for her potential
afraid of taking shape
though already she is
sensitive and graceful
she gambols around the kiln
afraid of fire to set
a form that could be disdained
