Parting Reflections

gliding along the highway
windows sparkle with
memories of yesterday
all bygone sunbeams
the sun’s course makes beautiful
these parting moments
with chromatic displays
I grapple with change
slippery as photons
smiling as we’re arrayed
in shades of orange and red
so long drifting away
as all things end
I anticipate the night
and perhaps too far away
another day
