Course of Water

troubled waters my reflections
ripping through river bed
slipping past syllables of affirmation
to snag and pool on
sticks and stones

carry away yesterday
with all the white water frenzy
it rushes in my ears
flash flood channeled from
a distant memory

forward seeking ocean
mountain streams go seeking
place of repose away
from compulsive cascade
and all its dazzling spray

forward charge water road
a bumpy ride at times
erupting from a course
of tortured contours
and also from the mind
