Show a Path

show me a path
as I trod so empty
let me breathe of life
out in the open air
show me a path
through sullen days
unchanging frames
a standstill movie
show me a path
when loneliness strikes
deep like hailstones
an impatient drumming
show me a path
when winter follows
every season’s footsteps
a fallow ground beneath me
show me a path
when heartache sticks
like sap to every pore
arresting touch
